6 Easy Ways to Build Your List Today

March 05, 2012

Building an email list doesn't have to difficult. If you want to sell more products and services to people, you have to build a profitable list. But if you're still having trouble even after launching a landing page or adding a sign-up box on your website, implement the following to your email marketing campaign today to get more people to sign-up.

Social Media Sign-Up

Social media has continued to grow at a rapid pace, so why aren't you taking advantage of it? Create a Facebook page or create accounts on other popular social media sites like Google+ and LinkedIn. There are also hundreds of lesser known social media sites that cater to specific industries. If you cater to a specific industry, find the social media site connected with it by doing a simple online search and create an account.

Post a message about your email list to encourage people to sign-up. Include a link to your landing page and website.

In-Store Sign Up

If you run a brick and mortar business, create a simple sign-up sheet and keep it next to the register. Ask people to sign-up while they pay for their purchases. Offer a special incentive such as discount coupon or free gift for signing up.

Website Sign-Up

Add a sign-up box to each of the most popular pages on your website to encourage visitors to sign up to receive email content from you.

Subscriber Referrals

Encourage those already on your email list to send bulk emails to their friends, co-workers and family by offering a discount or other free offer. Keep in mind that many people on your list share the same hobbies, career aspirations, problems and need for the goods and services you provide. Regularly seek referrals from your list to keep it growing.

Update Your Landing Page

If it has been a while since you updated your landing page, maybe it's time to do so. Upload a new video or clean up the content to reflect any changes you've made to your marketing campaign. For example, if you no longer offer a free ecourse, but now offer a free weekly newsletter, update your landing to reflect this change.

You may also want to update any photos, captions, stats and other information that may not seem relevant anymore.

Order Confirmation Page

Add a sign-up box to the order confirmation page on your website and on any order confirmation emails you send.
