No Coupons or Discounts: Easy Ways to Reward Customer Loyalty

April 25, 2012

Reward loyal customers with special gifts to encourage additional sales or just to say thanks. A loyal customer means something different to every Internet marketer or small business owner. To some, a customer that makes a purchase every month is considered loyal, to others, it's making a purchase once a year.

Determine who your loyal customers are and reward them in a way that makes them feel appreciated (and more open to making an additional purchase).

To many, offering a discount or percentage off coupon demonstrates appreciation for customer loyalty. But with so many companies and businesses offering coupons to just about everyone these days, you need to create something really special to maintain subscriber interest and increase sales.

VIP Newsletter

Instead of sending a standard percentage off coupon or code used to receive a discount on your website, create a VIP newsletter that provides even more quality information to those who purchase often from your website or business location. Include exclusive tips, interviews, video demonstrations, and other interesting content. You don't have to create this type of newsletter every week, instead create a monthly or bi-monthly newsletter packed with great information.

Send a short email message to those you consider loyal with a sign-up link. Include a brief description of what subscribers will receive and why they have been chosen to be included.

Free Consultations/Advice

Provide your time in lieu of a discount to loyal subscribers. Create an online forum with restricted access to ask questions and to talk with other subscribers. Host a live webinar or pod cast that allows you to directly interact with subscribers. This is a great way to show your commitment to your best customers. If you own a business, invite a select group of subscribers to visit your shop, restaurant, pub, etc. for free demonstrations, social gathering, or tasting.

Send an invitation via mass email to those considered your best customers along with any other information such as log-in details, opt-in link for webinars, or dates and times of special events.

Special Reports/Ebooks

Create a special report or Ebook filled with quality information subscribers can use to better their lives, excel in a particular hobby or niche, or anything else related to the niche you market to. Simply send a link to the information along with a short note of thanks. This will not only impress subscribers, it will also solidify your reputation as a professional business person.
