Master Your Client’s Curiosity with Your Next Mass Mail Campaign

December 17, 2012

For any email marketing campaign to succeed in the long run, you must focus on three important aspects: the open, click through and conversion rates of the mail you send to your list members.

It’s true that maintaining a high rate for all these factors is a pretty daunting task, but overcoming these obstacles is actually a simple process: you must pique the curiosity of your list members and then get them to act.

Here’s a few techniques prescribed by marketing experts to help you master your clients’ curiosity.

Come up with a compelling subject line

The subject line of any email message is the first thing that will be noticed by your recipients. Make sure that it is attractive enough so that recipients open the mail and actually read its contents. To know whether or not your subject lines are performing, evaluate your open rate metrics periodically and make a point of conducting split testing of your subject lines to figure out which works best in favour of your conversion rate.

Project an attractive personality

While sending mass emails, speak with a sense of authority and authenticity. Be straight forward, and don’t attempt to ‘trick’ your audience into clicking your links. Include humour, by all means, ask intriguing questions, but be genuine in everything you do. If you manage to accomplish this, chances are high that your target customers will take you much more seriously and start responding to your messages.

Include a preview of your blog post or articles in your mailings

Many prominent marketing experts believe that it is not wise to send a newsletter featuring entire posts. Instead try and include a snippet of your blog posts in your emails and then send it out (with a link to the original blog post). If your content is impressive enough, the recipients will take the next step and visit the link in the email. This will help you get a high click-through rate, and also your blog or website traffic will increase substantially. But remember, instead of just including the first couple of paragraphs from your blog posts in the email message, try making a summary of the entire article/blog post and send that out.

These are just three methods of mastering your client’s curiosity. There are plenty of other techniques as well — just make a point to consult mass email marketing experts with real hands-on experience to tweak your entire campaign for greatest response.
