Daily Email Campaigns

May 24, 2012

Some online marketers believe less is more while others send mass email messages on a daily basis. Depending on your marketing goals, you may want to create a list segment or send your entire list daily email messages. This can be risky, however, as some subscribers may not want to hear from you every day. But if you're upfront about how you run your campaign, you may be able to build a more profitable list of those that really want to receive frequent emails.

It's a Daily Email List

Let people know before they sign up that you plan to send daily emails. Even though this may limit the number of people that sign up, the potential to build a more profitable list is great. People who sign up to receive emails from you every day are probably very interested in making a purchase.

Types of Content

Keep these types of email messages short. Create an email campaign of helpful tips, recipes, advice, how-to videos or instructions, or inspirational or humorous quotes. You can send longer messages periodically, but these types of campaigns are used to keep people interested in your business rather than to sell products in a short period of time.

For business owners with websites or physical locations, this type of campaign reminds people that your business exists. For those that sell one or two informational products, this type of campaign may not be worth it because once a person buys the product, they usually don't buy a second copy (they may buy a new product if they enjoyed the first, however, but you don't need a daily email campaign to achieve additional sales).

Simplify the Process

Take advantage of autoresponder features to simplify the email sending process. Create a standard email marketing template and content for at least 30 days. Set the autoresponder to send each subscriber one message for each day. Stay ahead by creating enough content to last a few months. New subscribers will start at the beginning while existing subscribers will receive new content each day.

Update content as necessary depending on the market you're catering to so each message contains the most current information.

Maintain a Presence

Reminding subscribers that your business exists is the main purpose of daily email campaigns. Include valuable information along with links to your website, directions to your business location, and information people need to make a purchase or visit your store.
