Make Each and Every Email Count

Effective email marketers don't waste words or space in email messages. Even when providing valuable information, marketers must still compel people to visit their website or landing page to get them one step closer to making a sale. Failure to provide entertaining, interesting and useful email content can cause subscribers to become bored or lose interest in your business. Once this occurs, the chances of making a sale are very slim.

Write with Purpose

Use email content to discuss topics, subjects, products and services. Develop a voice that's inspiring, enthusiastic, and motivating. The goal is to present information that's extremely relevant in an exciting way. If your content contains only doom and gloom scenarios that rely on fear to sell goods and services, you won't sell much.

Writing with purpose is more than choosing snappy words and phrases. It's about knowing your topic inside and out by providing expert tips, advice, and information people can use today. If don't know much about the topic you're writing about, take some time to learn. Educating yourself is the best way to give your content more meaning which will hopefully become more valuable to subscribers.

Use Meaningful Images

Images are meant to make your words even more powerful. Add images only if they truly help get your message across. Otherwise, leave them out. If there's too much space on the page, add a call to action button that takes subscribers to your website or landing page. You can also add links to social media and blog pages. Just make sure links are relevant to your business - don't send subscribers to other websites; the goal is to get people to visit your website, not someone else's.

Ask for Feedback

Spend some time learning about what subscribers need from you by asking them. Create an online forum, social media page, blog page or allow people to post comments on your website (monitor these pages closely to remove any offending or irrelevant statements).

Use the feedback to explore new topics, increase education and awareness of goods and services, or to develop new products. Interact with subscribers by posting thoughtful responses.

Maintaining Contact Leads to Increased Sales

Each mass email you send is another chance to build or expand on customer relationships. Take the opportunity to really help those that subscribe to your list. Listen to their needs and try to fill them with information, goods and services. Once you know what subscribers want and need, it will become much easier to sell to them.
